Gridfinity for IKEA MAXIMERA (METOD kitchen)
Kitchen drawers are perfect for Gridfinity: spices, cutlery, measuring cups and odds and ends get a fixed place. MAXIMERA drawers in METOD kitchens have two quirks – sloping side walls and a depth that fits exactly 12 units. Here's what to watch out for.

Part counts for the default clearance of 0.5 mm per side. Values for other kitchens are approximate – kitchen drawers vary by maker and year, please measure.
Sloping side walls: the bottom counts
The side walls of MAXIMERA drawers slope inward toward the bottom, according to itsdesign's measurement guide, the drawer is already about 40 mm wider just 55 mm above the floor. For Gridfinity the bottom measurement counts, because that's where the baseplate sits. Gridmint's templates are measured at the bottom.
Depth: 11 or 12 units?
MAXIMERA drawers are 504 mm deep inside – exactly 12 × 42 mm. With the default clearance of 0.5 mm per side, Gridmint plays it safe and plans 11 units, with 20.5 mm of padding front and back.
If you want 12 units, load the template, then set “Clearance per side” to 0 in the “Baseplate” section under “Area”. It fits exactly, but without any play: the plate needs to be printed accurately and is a little harder to drop in. Best print one edge part as a test first.
Height: depends on the drawer
MAXIMERA comes in low, medium and high versions. How tall your bins can be depends on the drawer and what sits above it – measure from the drawer bottom to the underside of the drawer or countertop above and enter the value in the planner.

Frequently asked questions
Does Gridfinity fit IKEA MAXIMERA?
Yes. The 60 cm wide drawer takes 11 × 11 units with some play, or 11 × 12 units with none. At 40 cm it's 6 × 11 or 6 × 12, at 80 cm 16 × 11 or 16 × 12.
Why are the dimensions smaller than the drawer at the top?
The MAXIMERA side walls slope inward. Measurements are taken at the bottom, where the baseplate sits.
